The International Orthodox Christian Church (IOCC) formed its Psychosocial Support Program in the early 90s to provide emotional and spiritual care internationally following disasters. Today, the group is supported by the American Red Cross and provides emotional care and support for disaster survivors and also trains others on supporting residents in disaster recovery. If you find yourself in need of support — even just someone to talk to about your recovery story, call the GPIA at 239.558.4901 and we will help connect you to IOCC volunteers working on Pine Island.
The IOCC is also offering training for disaster support workers, including stress management. Trainings are planned to take place in Fort Myers, Arcadia and Venice. See fliers below for details.
